The Department of Immigration would like to inform the general public that a one-time consideration shall be given to those who come forward voluntarily and declare any illegal foreign domestic helper employed in their household. The illegal immigrant shall be deported after completing required formalities.
In this regard, the Department of Immigration would like to appeal to the general public to seize this one-time opportunity, which shall remain valid till 28 February 2022 only.
From 1 March 2022, any individual caught with an illegal foreign domestic helper shall be prosecuted in a court of law. The offense of employing a foreigner illegally is a felony of the fourth degree and, if convicted, carries a sentence of 3-5 years.
