The case relating to illegal entry of foreign workers who were clandestinely brought into the country by Bhutan Concast Pvt. Ltd, Pasakha, Phuentsholing, was filed at the Royal Court of Justice, Phuentsholing, on 21 January 2021. The foreign workers were apprehended in November 2020.
A full investigation was carried out by the Royal Bhutan Police and the Department of Immigration following due process. The Management of Bhutan Concast Pvt. Ltd. and the foreign workers have been formally charged as per relevant provisions of the Penal Code and Immigration Act of the Kingdom of
Bhutan. The case is being prosecuted by Office of the Attorney General at the Royal Court of Justice, Phuentsholing.
This reckless and irresponsible act was carried out blatantly with total disregard for laws and restrictions in place to prevent importation and spread of COVID-19 and all those responsible shall be held accountable and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
